This cake has everything it needs to be absolutely perfect. It is soft, fluffy, sweet and tastes so delicious!!
It is great for any time of day, with whipped cream, ice cream or just on its own.
It is by far, one of my favorite cakes! It is an instant hit every time I make it. A must for breakfast!
It is really easy to make, just place all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and that is it! Pour the batter into a pan and arrange the plum wedges in semicircles.

Plum Cake
Ingredients
- 150 g unsalted butter, at room temperature (10 tbps)
- 220 g sugar (1 cup+1tbsp)
- 120 g whole milk (1/2 cup)
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 240 g all-purpose flour (2 cups)
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 4 to 5 plums, cut into 4 or 6 pieces (depending on the size)
For the topping:
- 2 1/2 tbsp sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 370°F/ 190°C. Grease and flour a 9 inches cake pan.
- Mix the butter, sugar, milk, vanilla, and eggs. Add the flour and baking powder, and mix until well combined. Do not overbeat.
- Pour the mixture into the mold and arrange the plums on top. Bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes.
- Sprinkle the cake with sugar and return it to the oven for another 15 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean when tested.
