Panko Chicken Tenders with Seeds

They are very similar to fried breaded chicken steaks, but crispier and better! We make these quite often at home as they are my husband’s favorite, and a bit of a twist to the regular version of breaded steaks. You will not regret making these!

Panko Chicken Tenders with Seeds


  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1/2 taza flour
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 120 grs de panko (or breadcrumbs)
  • 80 grs crushed sesame and sunflower seeds (or any other seeds)
  • A handful of unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)
  • 1 cdta ground turmeric
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oil for frying 


  • In a bowl, place the flour, ½ tsp salt and pepper; beaten eggs in a second bowl; panko, seeds, coconut, turmeric, salt and pepper in a third bowl. 
  • Coat each chicken strip with flour, shake off the excess, dip in the egg, transfer to the panko mixture and press to coat on both sides. 
  • Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat, reduce to medium-low and fry the chicken for 3 minutes on each side, or until golden and cooked through. Place on a tray and serve.
