Real Vanilla Cake

Ingredientes
  

  • 120 ml milk + 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 120 gr unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 150 gr white sugar
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 gr all-purpose flour , sifted
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

Instrucciones
 

  • Preheat oven at 180ºC / 350ºF. Grease and flour a cake pan.
  • Mix the milk and lemon juice and let stand for 5 minutes. 
  • Beat butter at medium speed, gradually add sugar and vanilla and continue beating. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Reduce the speed, add flour, baking soda and finally, the milk. Mix to combine but do not overmix. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool and serve.
  • For the glaze: mix 1 ½ cups sifted powdered sugar + 1 ½ tbsp unsalted softened butter + 3 tbsp boiling water. Stir until desired consistency. If necessary, add a little more water or powdered sugar.
